A woman fought off a man who tried to get in her garden level apartment. Police, a few moments later, arrested 23-year-old Brandon Lee Poitra of Moorhead early Wednesday morning.
Teri Wisks' mother was watching her three grand daughters, who were asleep in the living room, when a man cut the screen in the window and started trying to get in.
A scary situation, but Margie Salveson kept enough of her cool, to keep him out. Teri Wisk says, "The fan was sitting here, it made a noise as he was pushing it in, it came down and my mother caught it and then she put it back in the window." She says Margie pushed against the intruder with the fan.
Police found Poitra a few blocks away. Police hope this will remind people who live in ground level units not to leave their windows open overnight, and be sure the window can be locked in place.
