GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) _ Now that North Dakota Republicans have finished their state convention, they say they like their chances of putting at least one Republican into the state's congressional delegation.
Gov. John Hoeven is looking to replace departing Democrat Byron Dorgan in the Senate. Hoeven says election enthusiasm is running high among GOP activists.
Fargo state Rep. Rick Berg is opposing incumbent Democrat Earl Pomeroy. Republican convention delegates supported Berg instead of Public Service Commissioner Kevin Cramer to oppose Pomeroy.
Cramer says it will be a tough race, but he says Pomeroy backed federal health care legislation that many North Dakotans oppose.
Pomeroy says North Dakota will benefit from the bill and that's what matters.
