A 37-year-old man from Beltrami County, Minnesota died in a head-on crash Saturday evening.
It happened on Highway 71 south of Northome at about 5:50.
The Koochiching County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a 2000 Saturn Sedan was heading south, and drifted into the northbound lane.
He swerved back into his lane, but the driver of a northbound 2006 GMC Sierra had already swerved into the southbound lane to avoid a crash.
When the saturn driver swerved back into his own lane, he wound up hitting the Sierra head-on.
Two others involved were minorly injured in the crash.
Names have not been released.
