MEDORA, N.D. (AP) _ The National Park Service says it has completed the reconstruction of the scenic drive in the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
Construction started in late June and involved the rebuilding of 5.4 miles of road and a new seal over the remaining 8.5 miles.
The project was a joint effort with the Federal Highway Administration. It brought the road up to current safety and Americans With Disabilities Act standards.
Native plants are to be seeded on the sides of the road next year.
Federal stimulus money paid the $7.5 million cost.
