The Oklahoma man accused of murdering for hire a Fargo dentist, is in Cass County custody. Forty-one-year-old Michael Nakvinda arrived in Fargo around six tonight.
He could be scheduled for his first Fargo court appearance sometime tomorrow on charges of murder, burglary and theft of the dentist's 1999 Porsche Boxster.
A fleet of several deputy cars took Nakvinda to Cass County Jail. He was booked into the jail, where authorities say he'll be evaluated for any special needs, including additional security.
Nakvinda is charged with another Oklahoma man in the murder-for-hire scheme of dentist Dr. Philip Gattuso. That man, Gene Kirkpatrick, is fighting extradition, but Nakvinda waived his.
Capt. Rick Majerus, Cass County Sheriff's Dept. "With some of our vehicles, they're not set up to be the quietest, so there isn't much opportunity for conversation. And obviously, we don't want to affect the outcome of the case. So it's pretty much go down there, pick him up, and take him back, is basically what it is."
Authorities say Kirkpatrick wanted Gattuso dead because he didn't like the way he was raising his granddaughter. Gattuso is Kirkpatrick's son-in-law, who was widowed earlier this year when his wife Valerie, Kirkpatrick's daughter, passed away.
I want to comment on how well you did, I know I would have personally had to make a few comments on that one. Great Job!!!!
