It's a tough road ahead for an area school district after Moorhead voters defeated an operating levy that would have raised funding by $850 per student.
After 30 jobs and 4.5 million dollars in cuts this year, the district must now find a way to trim another $1.3-million from its budget in the coming year. Superintendent Lynne Kovash says that could mean cutting programs or shortening the school week.
"Come up with some creative ideas, I hope. Get together; get some groups of people together that are willing to look at this," said Kovash. "People that voted no, if they want to come in and give us some ideas of how to reduce our budget, that would be fine."
The specific cuts will be made when the school board begins the budget process in December.
