In Moorhead, it'll be a big difference in the city council with three new members starting in January. Luther Stueland, was not running against an incumbent, but both mark Altenburg and Brenda Elmer did unseat incumbents.
Elmer won the race with more than 900 more votes than the incumbent. She says Moorhead voters made clear last night they want change, and having three new faces on the council will be a good thing.
"You know I really think it's good for any organization to have a mix of experience that we already do on the council and I respect that very much," said Elmer, incoming council member. "But also the fresh perspective and each new person brings skills to the table that I think will be helpful."
Elmer tells us she plans to spend the next two months working hard to catch up on the issues, learn the budget, and meet the players so they're ready to go when they take over after the first of the year.
