JAMESTOWN, N.D. - Both Jamestown and Valley City battled sewer problems during last spring's flooding. Work is now going on in both cities to address sewer issues.

A committee of Jamestown and Stutsman County officials has begun tackling the city's sanitary sewer system problems.

The committee was established to find ways other than using city sales tax money to repair the sewer system. Officials held their first meeting last week.

In Valley City, work has been done to ensure at least six buildings won't suffer sewage backups like they did during the flooding. The buildings include the Police Department, City Auditorium and Barnes County Historical Society Museum.
