A Wahpeton, ND couple was killed when the minivan they were riding in left a road, hit a tree, and ended up along the bank of the Wild Rice River.
The accident was reported a few minutes before 7:00 Thursday morning between Colfax and Abercrombie, North Dakota, and is believed to have happened overnight.
Authorities say the van was heading east on Richland County Road 4 when the van somehow went off the road.
The Highway Patrol says both victims were 49 years old, and were not wearing seatbelts. It appears the couple died on impact.
The Patrol will release the victims' names on Friday.
