Neighbors of a man police call a "person of interest" in a bank robbery say they're stunned by his arrest. Investigators are looking at whether Clifton Patterson of Grand Forks may have robbed the Bremer bank in Gilby, North Dakota last month.
Patterson is being held in a Mississippi jail on unrelated charges. His neighbors in Grand Forks say Patterson seemed like a nice guy willing to help anyone in need.
Liz Goostrom/neighbor: "Yeah, we have a blind lady and he'd help her through the snow. He was very polite. He lived here about two months."
Gladys Johnson/neighbor: "He was always so friendly. He'd offer to help us guys if we needed any help. I was just shocked."
