Rural Cass County is bracing for more overland flooding because of the Sheyenne River. Engineers are predicting water will break out to the east and west, three miles south of Kindred.

The water that flows east will meet up with the Wild Rice and Red Rivers and move through Fargo. And the water flowing west will make its way through the Davenport area and head north of west Fargo to the Maple River.

Engineers say the overland flooding could span several miles in either direction. Jeff Volk/Moore Engineering: "This is Cass County's, in my opinion, biggest threat next now. It happened in '97, exact same thing but I think there will be more water trying to get through this corridor."

The prediction is based on water coming from Valley City and Lisbon. The overland flooding is expected to break out this weekend and last up to a week.
