Floodwaters have washed out roads across North Dakota, and counties are advising no travel on many of the smaller, secondary routes.
State transportation officials say speeds are reduced to 25 mph on Interstate 94 just east of Steele, in central North Dakota, because of water on the road. Ramps at the Windsor interchange along the interstate also have water.
Officials in Kidder, LaMoure, Mercer, Morton and Sheridan counties advised no travel on secondary roads and extreme caution on primary roads.
In eastern North Dakota, state officials closed state Highway 13 in the city of LaMoure to build a dike across the highway. State Highway 27, east of the junction of North Dakota Highway 32 in Lisbon, also has been closed for construction of a dike.
