Funny prank or foul play? Police wonder what's in the trunk

Bookmark and Share

Grand Forks Police are trying to determine if what someone saw really was a person in the trunk of a car. A witness thinks he saw a body when a driver stopped and popped the trunk.

It happened around 5 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot at the 700 block of 28th Avenue South. The driver of a tan-colored passenger vehicle with North Dakota plates exited the vehicle and opened the trunk. The caller believes they saw a person inside of the trunk while it was open. The driver quickly closed the trunk and sped off eastbound on 28th Avenue South.

Police can't say for sure if the incident was a prank or if foul play was involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Grand Forks Police Department at 701-787-8000.
